The Oklahoma City Obedience Training Club sponsors a free "people and dog" training program every Saturday at the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter.  These classes provide basic obedience, behavior information, grooming tips and some doggie tricks.  These sessions are held specifically for people who adopt dogs from the Shelter.  Classes are taught by members of the Oklahoma City Obedience Training Club.

The Second Hand Dog School runs in increments of four weeks.  The owners receive a curriculum book, homework, and other informational handouts.

The bonding and friendships between dogs and owners, dogs and dogs, and owners and owners culminate at Graduation.  The dogs receive special treats, seasonal bandanas, and diplomas suitable for framing.  Music is played for the dogs to march to "Pomp and Circumstance."

Fun and long time friends are often made at The Second Hand Dog School of Oklahoma City.
